Here is a collage of the earliest monopoly game illustrations used on the Chance and Community Chest cards. These were introduced in late 1935 to replace the original text only cards and discontinued in early 1937 when Uncle Pennybags was introduced and became the logo for Monopoly and other Parker Brothers games.

The only missing illustration is one that says GO BACK TO BALTIC. That one is in just about all the text only sets but didn't last very long in the illustrated series. It is very rare and I do not have one yet to add to this collage. The drawing was a reverse image of the Illinois card with BALTIC instead of ILLINOIS on the sign.

I think these images are excellent representatives of the art deco style of the 1920's-1930's. Too bad Uncle Pennybags had to come along.
