Shown here are the game pieces for an original Stock Exchange game add-on intended for Monopoly, Finance, or Easy Money games, invented by C. B. Hewison Jan 20, 1936 and marketed by Capitol Novelty Co. of Rensselaer, NY in early 1936.

Shortly after Capitol Novelty introduced this add-on, Parker Brothers bought it from them then marketed their own version of Stock Exchange as an add-on specifically for their 'new' Monopoly game. I'm not sure of the precise timeline, but it is known that the Parker Brothers version was available in June, 1936.

The Parker Brothers version didn't sell very well and is pretty scarce these days. The Capitol Novelty version, however, is quite rare.

Most online articles about the Stock Exchange add-on make reference to the Hasbro version of history, which credits the introduction of the game to Parker Brothers. There are a few web articles that mention Capitol Novelty as the original producer of the game, but there really aren't many details.

I just acquired a Trade Mark No 9 Monopoly game from 1935, also very rare, and the Stock Exchange game pieces pictured below were included with that game. A nice bonus!
